Organiser supplements are text files which can be produced using a word
processor that can save files in ASCII format (such as Wordworth), or a text
editor.
CREATING A SUPPLEMENT
i. When creating a supplement using Wordworth, type the text as you would
normally, only pressing the Return key at the end of each paragraph.
Ensure that the "End of Paragraph" radio button on the "File Settings"
requester is selected ("Change Settings"-File, Settings menu) before saving
your Supplement file into the Supplements drawer.
ii. When using a text editor, type each paragraph as a single line, pressing
the Return key only at the end of a paragraph. Then, save the Supplement file
in the Supplements drawer.
USING TABS
The first line of a supplement can be used to define the tab stops for the
Supplement. Tab stops are used for indenting text, or setting columns.
When defining the tab line:
1. The tab character is used to divide the page equally into the given number
of parts (note that an extra tab is automatically added to the end).
2. A tab stop marker (" ^ ") is placed at the positions where you would like an
actual tab stop to occur. (Press Shift-6 to type a tab stop marker.)
Example tab lines:
To set a tab position that will create a column down the centre of the page,
type:
<TAB>^
To define three equally spaced columns type:
<TAB>^<TAB>^<TAB>^
To place a single tab stop close to the right of the page, use the following
tab line:
<TAB><TAB><TAB><TAB>^
Trial and error may be necessary to find the best place for the tabs.
To use the tab positions, simply insert a tab character into the Supplement
text whenever you want to move to the next tab stop.
